March is looking to be a pretty exciting month, with plenty of great games and a certain brand new Nintendo system to look forward to. Check out just a few of the big titles coming this month.
Nintendo Switch [March 3] – We start the month of with a big one. March 3rd marks the launch of Nintendo’s much anticipated new console-handheld hybrid, the Nintendo Switch. Even though I’m sure the majority of people are gonna just get Zelda at launch, the Switch launches with the following titles:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (also on Wii U same day)
Just Dance 2017
Human Resource Machine
I Am Setsuna
Super Bomberman R
World of Goo
Nier: Automata (PS4) [March 7]- The action-roleplaying game published by Square Enix and developed by PlatinumGames. Nier: Automata is a sequel to the 2010 game Nier and follows the female combat android named 2B. Joined by a masculine 9S, they fight in this post-apocalyptic world against giant machines terrorizing the land.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands (PS4/XBONE/PC) [March 7] – The tenth installment in the Ghost Recon series and the first mainline Ghost Recon game in five years, Wildlands will feature the largest open world that Ubisoft has ever created. Fans of the series certainly won’t wanna miss this one.
LEGO Worlds (PS4/XBONE/PC) [March 7] – While people have been enjoying this sandbox Minecraft-esque game for about 2 years now, LEGO Worlds is set to make a proper release this March. The game is also planned to have a Switch release sometime later.
Danganronpa 1-2 Reload (PS4) [March 14] – If you’ve heard about this murder mystery visual novel series before from a friend who’s probably anticipating the release of the 3rd installment this September (unless they already played the Japanese version), and became interested in checking it out yourself, look no further than 1-2 Reload. As the name suggests, it contains the first two games in the series on one disc. It’s the perfect starting point for soon to be fans.
Mass Effect: Andromeda (PS4/XBONE/PC) [March 21] – BioWare’s space opera continues with this fourth installment. This time however, you play as either Scott or Sara Ryder, centuries after the first trilogy in the Andromeda Galaxy, tasked in populating new home worlds there. The game will have open-world elements with an emphasis on exploration.
Mario Sports Superstars (3DS) [March 24] – We’ve played Mario sports games before, but this package crams five sports in one. Sports Superstars will feature soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, and horse racing which is a series first. And these aren’t just simple minigames (I hope…), but full-scale recreations of each sport.
Dark Souls III: The Ringed City (PS4/XBONE/PC) [March 28] – Not a brand new game, but some quality DLC is being added to Dark Souls III with The Ringed City. This is to be the game’s final expansion and introduces new characters, armor, weapons and magic as players venture into the Ringed City.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix (PS4) [March 28] – So as fans wait for Kingdom Hearts III to be released in, like, 10 years probably, Square Enix is celebrating Kingdom Hearts’ 15th anniversary with HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix. It takes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, which were already both a collection of games themselves, and puts them into one package. That’s about 6 games right there. So if you’ve never played the series before, it’s a perfect buy. You’ll have plenty to do and lore to read.
MLB The Show 17 (PS4) [March 28] – This hit baseball series will come with many gameplay improvements and new overall updates by developer SIE San Diego Studio. These improvements include faster throwing animations, improved visuals, and smarter AI.
Strafe (PS4/PC/Mac/Linux) [March 28] – Got that nostalgic itch? Well Strafe is an upcoming first-person shooter that pays homage to classic first-person shooters of the 90s, like Doom and Quake. It’s advertised as having “bleeding edge graphics and gameplay”. Nice.
