Outlast 2 Release Date Confirmed

2013’s first-person survival horror title Outlast and subsequent downloadable content Whistleblower both debuted to solid receptions, a fact which ultimately earned developer Red Barrels a sequel. That sequel, Outlast 2, was originally touted as due to arrive sometime this year, but recently a specific date has been announced.

Red Barrels and Warner Bros. have made public that the latest heart-pounding chapter is now slated for a North American April 25th and a European April 28th release date for $29.99 on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Warner Bros. will be publishing Outlast Trinity, a console bundle that includes Outlast, Whistleblower and Outlast 2 for $39.99 that will launch alongside the new game as well.

With Capcom’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard having done very well critically in its own right, Red Barrels will be looking to impress with the next entry to their own survival-horror series. Outlast 2 serves as an indirect sequel to its predecessor, meaning if you haven’t played the first Outlast you won’t be lost in the second’s plot.

Ash has spent the majority of his life a huge game enthusiast, and has indeed spent many a day with numerous titles, specifically Twisted Metal, on his screen. Legend has it he’s still waiting for that sequel…
