The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES Mini) has been taking the gaming world by storm with several different fiasco’s occurring in anticipation for this console. They have been insanely popular in the UK, with every single retailer releasing a pre-order option becoming sold out.
Pre-orders have yet to become available in the US and will likely remain so until sometime later this month. Wal-Mart became a top story after online pre-orders sold out in a matter of hours, only for them to cancel all of them days later due to a “Technical Glitch” that caused the pre-orders to go up sooner than they were planning.
Luckily for fans who have been waiting to here about the release plans for the console, Nintendo released a statement via Facebook which states:
“We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month. A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year. ”
We do not yet have a definitive release date for pre-orders for the SNES Mini as of yet, but should expect to hear more news over the next week or so. If you are planning on trying to get your hands on the system, pay attention for the pre-orders to go online, as they will not last very long.
The SNES Mini will cost $79.99/£69.99 and comes with two SNES controllers. For more information on the console and games that come to boot check Here.
