Could Microsoft and Sony Agree on Cross Play Soon?

Microsoft recently revealed that they are in conversation with Sony about cross play, and hopefully the two parties can reach an agreement sometime soon. Aaron Greenburg, head of marketing for Xbox, told Gamereactor, ” Absolutely, yeah. We’re talking to Sony (about cross play), we do partner with them on Minecraft and of course we would like to enable them to be part of that; one community, to unite gamers. So we’re talking to them and we’re hopeful that they’ll be supportive of it.”

Greenburg gets straight to the point here and makes it clear that if cross play does not happen it is on Sony and not Microsoft. Microsoft has been open to allowing cross play between the two for a while now. If Sony approves of this idea as it could be beneficial for everyone involved, but only time will tell.

Huge sports game fan, some of my favorite games in other genres include, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, anything Naughty Dog makes, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy XV. I’m still patiently waiting for EA to bring back the NCAA football series, even though it’s probably not gonna happen anytime soon.
