Monster Hunter: World Gets Official Release Date!

Capcom has officially announced the Xbox One and PS4 release date for Monster Hunter: World. It will hit the shelves on January 26, 2018, and “A PC release will follow at a later date”. This is exciting news for fans of the Monster World series.

To go along with the announcement at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom has released a trailer showing off a variety of monsters that players will have the chance to encounter (see below).

Xbox One players that pre-order the game in North America will receive bonuses such as, the Origin Set Armor and the Fair Wind Charm talisman. This is a much bigger incentive for pre-orders compared to the PS4, which will receive access to a custom theme if you purchase the game digitally from the PS Store.

The Digital Deluxe Edition for North America will include “the digital game, plus additional customizable options that can be used in-game: a Samurai Set skin, three gestures, two sticker sets, plus an extra face paint and hair style option for the hunter. The PS4 version of the Digital Deluxe Edition also includes 14 weapon-themed PSN avatars.” These versions will sell for MSRP $69.99 in North America, which is not a bad bargain. Players who do not buy these versions of the game will have the chance to buy the add on items at a later date.

Lastly, North America will receive a physical Collector’s Edition that includes a physical copy of the game, voucher for the additional customizable options from the Digital Deluxe Edition, a 32 page hardcover art book, a digital soundtrack, and a flagship monster statue. This version of the game will come in a collectors box at a price point of $149.99.

Whether you are new to the series, or a monster hunter veteran, there will be plenty of options for you to get your hands on one of the most anticipated games of 2018. Look for Monster Hunter: World to hit the shelves on January 26, 2018.
