Weekly Round-Up: October 27 is Packed with Releases, Sonic Forces Demo and More!

With the Super Mario series, Assassin’s Creed series and Wolfenstien series all adding a title today, there is a lot to cover, so lets get to it!

Yet Another System Seller for Nintendo

Nintendo has already had a great year, but the release of Super Mario Odyssey proves they are back! Super Mario Odyssey, is the SECOND (YES SECOND) title of 2017 to receive a 97 on Metacritic from Nintendo. A 97, or higher, has only been given to 20 games and now two of them released this year from the same company. This proves the Switch is the real deal, as its library is already better than the Wii U’s, not even a year into its life. Super Mario Odyssey is yet another Switch seller, and is now available for $59.99.

Killing Nazis Has Never Been This Good

Wolfenstien II: The New Colossus, is the sequel to the beloved 2014 soft reboot Wolfenstien: The New Order. Critics have not stopped praising The New Colossus, as it offers a deep narrative with engaging and diverse gameplay. Most believe we have an instant classic on our hands, as it tops the first title in almost every way (which is no small feat). Wolfenstien II: The New Colossus, is out now for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC and hits the Switch’s library early next year.

The Immortal Series is Back

When the newest Assassin’s Creed title is the third biggest game to release in one day, you know its a pretty big day. Assassin’s Creed Origins made a lot of changes this time around, and according to critics it seems to have paid off. Assassin’s Creed Orgins is an open-world RPG (a first for the series), and features a completely revamped combat system. Critics have praised the game’s setting, and believe it is a step in the right direction for the future of the series. Assassin’s Creed Origins is now available on the PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Destiny 2 Now on PC

The highly anticipated port of Destiny 2 finally released this Tuesday. The port has been met with praise, as it is a definite improvement over its console counterparts. Critics have been very positive as to how well the game runs on the platform, and for PC players who waited their decision seems to have paid off. Destiny 2 is now available on the PC as well as the Xbox One and PS4.

The Kinect is Now Officially Dead

It was officially announced this week that manufacturing has stopped for the product. After the early success of the device on the 360, the Kinect started to die off every day when it was bundled with the Xbox One, which made the price of the system $100 more than the PS4. The Kinect was not necessarily a failure, but it was never a success story by any means. What are your thoughts of the Kinect, let us know in the comments below!

Sonic Forces Demo, Is It the Worst Demo Ever Made?

A Sonic Forces Demo is now available on the Switch, through the Japanese Nintendo eShop. It is honestly the worst idea for a demo we have ever seen here at Sick Critic. Players get to try three different levels, which is completely fine until you realize you get one minute with each level. What is the point in this demo? The idea makes no sense as players do not even have time to finish the level, and the cut scenes are longer than the actual levels, no for real I am not joking (although I wish I was).

Hitman Game of the Year Edition Revealed

The newest Hitman title has received positive reception from both fans and critics alike, and now a Game of the Year edition is on its way. The GOTY version will feature all of the games original content as well as a new campaign titled, Patient Zero. Patient Zero will include four missions and some new briefings for the player to take part in. Hitman Game of the Year edition launches this November 7, digitally only for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Now If you will excuse me, in my limited free time I have to go save Peach from having to marry Bowser, take back America from the Nazi’s and become the founder of the Assassin’s brotherhood.

I am a huge sports game fan, if I am not playing 2k or Madden, then I am probably playing the latest big release that week. Someone also needs to bring back the NCAA football series soon, please and thank you.
