The Nintendo Switch has now passed ten million units sold worldwide. The hybrid system from Nintendo has managed to pass this major milestone just nine months into its life cycle. This is extremely impressive as the system had virtually no games for the first few months. yes, it had Breath of the Wild, but it was hard for a lot of people to shell out 300 dollars for one game, and the fact that no one could find a system until recently didn’t help. Now looking at the system’s library and the amount of upcoming titles, the sky seems to be the limit for the Switch.
The Switch has had arguably the best first-year exclusive lineup for any console, as the system saw Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild release to fan and critical acclaim, as the two are now considered to be some of the best titles the company has ever made. The Switch also received Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is one of the best kart racers ever made. Other exclusives include Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, ARMS and Golf Story. The third-party support is where Nintendo has won fans back though, as the Switch has received NBA 2K18, FIFA 18, DOOM, Skyrim, L.A. Noire, Resident Evil Revelation 1 and 2, Stardew Valley and Rocket League, all within the systems first nine months, and those are only the big ones, don’t even get me started on the amount of great Indie titles in the eShop.
Not only is the Switch’s library already strong, but 2018 looks to keep the momentum going, as the Switch is set to receive Wolfenstien 2: The New Colossus, Bayonetta 1 and 2, Mega Man 11 and a new Kirby and Yoshi game. The Switch also has Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 coming as exclusives sometime in the future. Now is a great time to pick up a Switch while it has enough games to warrant a purchase, as well as plenty upcoming games to keep you excited over the next year.
The Nintendo Switch has had a great first nine months, and it looks like Nintendo is not slowing down anytime soon. Let us know down below what you think of the Switch and whether or not you will be picking one up this holiday season.
