After over a decade of silence and a shuttered company to boot, the Timesplitters and Second Sight franchises (once developed by Free Radical Design) have now been acquired by THQ Nordic. Not much detail is known on what this will entail, but subsidiary companies Koch Media and Deep Silver have specifically announced their new involvement with the long dormant IPs.
Timesplitters (specifically the second installment) was last seen as an easter egg in the otherwise forgotten Homefront: The Revolution. Even less has been heard from the Second Sight IP, though I and many others vouch for both titles as creative entries in often formulaic genres. This information should read as exciting to many (unless you were pulling for a Haze reboot), and only awaits further development.
It is with great pleasure that we today announce the acquisition of the cherished video games series Timesplitters and Second Sight. Full details will be revealed in due course.

Enjoys paying less than 20 dollars for a game, especially when it is one people have forgotten about. Wants to be a character in the next Jet Set Radio and hopes you enjoy the site. Has a pet rabbit he nurtures and takes photos of. Still pushing for a Stuntman Ignition remaster 11 years later. Still hasn’t played Fortnite.
