TimeSplitters and Second Sight Newly Acquired by THQ Nordic

After over a decade of silence and a shuttered company to boot, the Timesplitters and Second Sight franchises (once developed by Free Radical Design) have now been acquired by THQ Nordic. Not much detail is known on what this will entail, but subsidiary companies Koch Media and Deep Silver have specifically announced their new involvement with the long dormant IPs.

Timesplitters (specifically the second installment) was last seen as an easter egg in the otherwise forgotten Homefront: The Revolution. Even less has been heard from the Second Sight IP, though I and many others vouch for both titles as creative entries in often formulaic genres. This information should read as exciting to many (unless you were pulling for a Haze reboot), and only awaits further development.

  1. […] This game was freaking awesome! It wasn’t super popular, but it was a ton of fun and I remember spending countless hours racing around on my little jet ski and listening to ‘Pedal to the Metal’ over and over again. The smartass banter you’d hear as you passed someone or as you were picking your character was hilarious. Splashdown was the Riptide game we loved before Riptide was even a name (I love you, Vector Unit!). THQ Nordic definitely needs to buy back this IP while they are on a spending spree. […]
