Xbox Elite Controller Gets A White Color Scheme

A few months ago the Xbox Elite Controller stopped being available for purchase. Now, we know that this was due to a redesign being in the works. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller – White Special Edition at its core is the same original. However, an Xbox Wire blog post reveals it has received a number of upgrades.

Firstly, the controller comes with swappable thumbsticks and D-pads allowing for customisation and control over the design of the controller. An important example is that the plate-like D-pad on the original Elite controller can now be swapped for a more traditional 4-way one. The triggers on the controller now have Hair Trigger Locks allowing players to set a limit on how far the trigger can be pressed down. This is important for competitive first-person shooters, as it allows rapid fire of weapons.

Another addition is that paddles on the back of the controller can now be removed easily. New paddles can also be added onto the controller. Finally, the face buttons (A, B, X, Y) can now be remapped on the controller, the same can be done for the paddles on the back of the controller.

This controller is available now for $149.99 USD at the Microsoft Store and Gamestop.

That same blog post also revealed that the Xbox One X Fallout 76 bundle will include a white Xbox One X and controller.

Microsoft has been announcing a number of new hardware initiatives recently. The Xbox All Access program just got announced, allowing you to lease an Xbox One X or S. It has also been reported that Microsoft is working on a cloud-based gaming system.
