Warner Bros. Pictures has dropped the first official trailer for Pokémon Detective Pikachu. The movie is based off Detective Pikachu, a game which originally launched for Nintendo 3DS in 2016. In the film, Pikachu is voiced by Ryan Reynolds with Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, and Ken Watanabe also starring.
They’ve opted for a more realistic take on the beloved monsters in this movie but still seem to retain the original charm. The premise rests on Pikachu’s ability to be verbally understood by the main character. It’ll be interesting to see how the film does next year.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu will arrive in theaters on May 11, 2019. Will you be dropping money to see this film?
