Netflix’s The Witcher Series Reveals New Trailer

The highly anticipated Netflix The Witcher series has shown off their first teaser trailer from San Diego Comic-Con. In this dramatic trailer you will see the former Superman Star, Henry Cavill, take on his role as Geralt of Rivia in a world with humans, elves, monsters, and the famous witchers.

The Witcher Series Is Coming To Netflix in 2019

It’s clear that Geralt loves his job as a Witcher hunting down monsters for money. In a dramatic line from the trailer, a character says, “So that’s all life is to you? Monsters and money?” In which Geralt responds: “It’s all it needs to be.” While it’s evident that Geralt will be tied up in his usual monster battles, especially with the massive arachnid at the end of the trailer, you will get a taste of the storyline that has enthralled fans for years.

The trailer showcases an epic battle with Nilfgaard, Yennefer struggling with a transformation to become “the most powerful woman in the world.”, and a most extraordinary child.

Geralt of Rivia looks angry in Netflix's The Witcher Series

Lauren Hissrich gave an insightful interview with Entertainment Weekly on what kind of audience the series would cater to. “It’s a very adult show. I will add it was important to me that any violence or sex drives the story and is not there just for shock value”. We should expect some deep storytelling coming from The Witcher, including an ample amount of sword-swinging action.

Netflix’s The Witcher is slated to release sometime in 2019, starring Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Frey Allan as Ciri. If you’re looking forward to Geralt’s adventure on the big screen, let us know below!
