Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, one of the most anticipated games of the year, is set to launch on PS4 on Friday, November 8th. It tells the story of a man traveling across a wasteland to save humanity from annihilation after various supernatural events start to plague the landscape. It seems to also have heavy themes revolving around interpersonal relationships, we think, although no one can quite be sure as the trailers are all incredibly cryptic. We do know it features Conan O’Brien, though, as well as a number of other celebrity voice actors that are sure to immerse us fully in this strange world.
Death Stranding won’t be a PlayStation exclusive forever, though. Kojima always intended for it to be playable on PC, and in the coming months 505 games will handle porting it over. 505 has been behind the recent Control and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, as well as ABZÛ, so the Death Stranding certainly seems to be in good hands. There’s no release date set as of now, but it’s projected to be available “Summer 2020” with more details in the near future. It’s unknown if the game will release on Steam, GOG, or some other platform (I find the Epic Games store unlikely), but it will likely be announced soon.
