Not to be usurped by Sony and their “State of Play” presentation, Nintendo held their own mini direct today focusing on all the indie games that are set to grace the Switch in the future. 16 games were featured in the presentation, including some bite-sized announcements. Check out the full presentation below:
Sports Story and Streets of Rage 4 were early highlights of the show, and we can look forward to them sometime in 2020. A bunch of games are also heading to Switch today, including the other-worldly puzzle game The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition and the free-to-play Monster Hunter style game Dauntless. The Switch version of Dauntless also features cross-play and cross-save so you can play with friends on Switch without fear of losing any of your progress.
In typical Nintendo Direct fashion, one last announcement was saved until the final minutes. This time, it was Axiom Verge 2. Tom Happ, the game’s creator, appeared in the flesh to say the game has been in development for 4 years, and judging by the game’s trailer, it’s already looking polished and ready to hit its Fall 2020 release date.
Here’s the complete list of all the games in the presentation, plus their slated release dates:
- Axiom Verge 2 – Fall 2020
- Bake ‘N Switch – Summer 2020
- Boyfriend Dungeon – 2020
- Dauntless – Today
- Dreamscaper – Early 2020

While this Indie World didn’t have any true show-stoppers, a lot of developers showed their faces to remind us that behind every game lies a passionate team of people.
