Nintendo Unveils Animal Crossing Themed Nintendo Switch

Fans of Animal Crossing have been excited for the next entry in the series, New Horizons, for a while now, especially considering the most recent title was all the way back in 2012 After undergoing delays, the release date is finally in sight, and to celebrate Nintendo has announced a new design for the Switch. As you can see from the above image, the joy-cons are a lovely pastel green and blue, and the dock has an adorable image of Tom, Timmy, and Tommy on an island. The joy-cons have cream-white backs, and on the back of the switch are little drawings.

The back of the Animal Crossing Switch

The back of the switch does not light up, it was merely an effect added for the video.

Per a press release, the Animal Crossing edition of the Nintendo Switch will be available in stores on March 13th, with a MSRP of $299.99. Retailers will assuredly let people pre-order over the coming month. The console releases an hour before Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which releases on the 20th for $59.99. The Nintendo UK store already offers pre-orders on the game, the switch, Animal Crossing-themed tote bags, carrying cases, and every combination of the above imaginable.

Doom Eternal also releases on March 20th, so if that’s more your speed, the Animal Crossing-themed Nintendo Switch will give you an adorable aesthetic as you slaughter the legions of hell.
