It’s hard to dispute that Nintendo is leading the pack among the video game behemoths, as they have out sold Playstation and Xbox consoles throughout most of the entirety of 2017. To add more salt to the wound, Nintendo clocked in the No. 2 overall spot for hardware sales with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition. Combining these numbers with the 3DS systems, Nintendo runs the board with two-thirds of all video game hardware sold in the United States. These results are impressive for Nintendo, as they bounce back into relevance after a poor showing of sales with their previous consoles.
With multiple game of the year contenders in The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Odyssey, which out sold every game in the month of October with only 3 days, Nintendo should be extremely pleased with their results.
