Weekly Round-Up: Nintendo Switch takes January, Extra Save Slots in Metal Gear Survive Costs Real Money and More!

An Extra Save Slot in Metal Gear Survive Costs $10

For players who want more than one save slot in Metal Gear Survive, it’s going to cost you about $10 in in-game currency. Why Konami implemented this, no one knows, as this is easily one of the most ludicrous ways to get more money out of consumers pockets. You can’t even earn the currency through playing the game, as the only way to get more “SV Coins”, is by using your hard earned cash, or logging in every day for 39 straight days, yes we did the math, it would take over a month of logging in every day just to have another save slot, as you earn 30 coins for logging in daily.

Switch Tops NPD Charts for January

The Nintendo Switch continues its insane start, as it was the top-selling console for January, but the PS4 and Xbox One were not far behind, and while sales figures were not revealed, the gap in sales between the third and best-selling consoles of the month was just 3 percent. This was also the best January for gaming revenue since 2011, as the Xbox One had its best January yet, the 3DS bounced back and both Monster Hunter World and DragonBall FigtherZ came out swinging. The top five games for the month of January were in order, Monster Hunter World, DragonBall FighterZ, Call of Duty: WII, PUBG, and GTA V.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Surpasses 1 Million Units Sold

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a great success story, as the crowdfunded title has sold over 1 million copies. The giant realistic RPG from Warhorse Studios has its problems as the game is very buggy, and some of the mechanics can be a bit of a drag, but for being such an ambitious game from a new studio, it has turned out to be quite a damn good title, and with the studio hard at work on patching the bugs, and fixing some of the games odd mechanics such as the save system and lock picking, the future is bright for this title.
