Weekly Round-Up: Spyro Reignited Trilogy Announced, God of War Length Further Detailed and More!

God of War Length Detailed

The highly anticipated PS4 exclusive God of War is right around the corner, and while details emerged a few months back that the game could take 25 to 35 hours to complete, it was recently revealed that it took a designer at Sony Santa Monica 43 hours to 100 percent the game. This is quite impressive; as a game designer they must know the game inside out, so clearly we’re in for a lengthy journey unlike previous entries in the series, which would only last around 10 hours. God of War is looking to be another impressive PS4 exclusive when it launches on April 20 for $59.99.

Marvel’s Spider-Man to Have No Microtransactions

Over the past few days Game Informer has been releasing a lot of details for the upcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man such as the release date, cover art, and progression system. The game’s creative director Bryan Intihar said in an interview that there will be no microtransactions, and that both the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions would be locked at 30 frames per second, with the Pro version receiving a bump in resolution. The collector’s edition was also revealed, including a steel book case, digital skins, access to all DLC, a statue of everyone’s favorite web-slinging hero, and an art book. This will cost $149.99. Insomniac’s take on Spider-Man is looking quite promising, its September 7 release date couldn’t come soon enough.

Firewatch Switch Version Announced

Over two years after its original launch on PC and PS4, the critically-acclaimed Firewatch will finally be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Firewatch follows Henry, a man with a dark past who looks to move on by becoming a fire lookout. Firewatch will be a great fit for the Switch as its art style will translate well over to the Switch’s handheld screen, and I cannot wait to finally give this one a chance when it releases sometime this spring on the Nintendo Switch.
