Sonic X Is Coming To Netflix In December

Any Sonic the Hedgehog fan who grew up in the early 2000s are in for a nostalgic treat come December 1 because Sonic X is coming to Netflix in North America, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

This information comes from whatsonnetflix, who reported that the first two seasons of the blue blur’s 2003 anime will be available soon.

Animation Studio TMS Entertainment is responsible for producing <em>Sonic X</em>. It’s one of the oldest animation studios within Japan and is responsible for a plethora of other works such as <em>Lupin the 3<sup>rd</sup></em>, <em>Detective Conan</em> and even <em>Akira</em>. Yeah, that’s right, the studio responsible for one of the most influential films of all time also made a cartoon about a hedgehog who races F1 cars and is scared of water for some reason.</p><p><em>Sonic X </em>is largely based on the <em>Sonic Adventure </em>games, adopting a similar art-style, soundtrack and “dude-bro” attitude. It focuses more on the action and newer characters brought to the spotlight in the adventure games, in an attempt to appeal to a slightly older audience.</p><p>Undoubtedly, <em>Sonic X </em>is also being brought to the massive streaming platform in an attempt to bolster excitement for the <em>Sonic The Hedgehog </em>movie that’s coming in February 2020. Originally it was supposed to come in late 2019, but after an overwhelmingly large <a href="https://sickcritic.com/2019/04/30/sonic-the-hedgehog-movie-trailer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">negative response</a> to Sonic’s design, the film studio <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szby7ZHLnkA&t=16s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">changed his appearance altogether</a> to make him more loyal to the games.</p><p>Whether that was a good decision or not remains to be seen, but at least now fans seem more willing to give the live-action adaptation a chance.
