The natural selling point of a game with a timeloop is you always restart at the beginning of the game each time you die or reach the end of the night, which requires you to learn how to master each level and successfully break the loop. You’re encouraged to find more creative tactics each time to dominate your opponent. Game director Dinga Bakaba wants to blur the lines between single-player and multi-player with <em>Deathloop</em>: “The focus is on the campaign and the story,” states Bakaba, “and that campaign can be played with Julianna controlled only by the AI, or – and this is our recommendation – by a mix of A.I. and random players to experience the range of unpredictability and chaos that Julianna is capable of.”</p><p><em>Deathloop</em> is a PS5 console exclusive because of the graphical fidelity of the machine and the DualSense’s haptic feedback technology.
