GameCube Controller Support on the Switch Draws Questions From Fans

It is very odd that Nintendo went through the trouble to allow the GameCube controller adapter to work on the Switch, but did not even let players know that it was a new feature. Fans have been speculating about what this could mean, and most believe that a new Super Smash Bros. title is in the works. A Super Smash Bros. title does seems inevitable as the Switch is the hottest console around, and Nintendo would only benefit from putting one of their biggest franchises on the Switch. The GameCube controller support might mean that a Smash Bros title is coming sooner than expected, as it is most fans preferred way to play the beloved fighting game series, but only time will tell.

Virtual Console has also been speculated quite a bit, as it was reported last year that Nintendo would bring the GameCube to the Virtual Console. With games like Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros. Melee and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the GameCube remains to be a fan favorite console from Nintendo. Our fingers are crossed that both Virtual Console and a new Super Smash Bros. title is on the way, but either or will do for the time being.
