Respawn’s Apex Legends Reaches 25 Million Players

Respawn, previously known for the Titanfall franchise, stealth dropped their latest addition to the Frontier with Apex Legends. Apex Legends is the most recent Battle Royale game to hit the market and it did so with a bang. Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn, went to Twitter to comment on the news of them hitting 25 million players in their first week of launching.

Apex Legends also had broken one million players within eight hours of releasing and ten million players in 72 hours. Such big hitting streamers as Nadeshot from 100 Thieves, Shroud and Dr. Disrespect were found sliding around the Apex map, exploring what the game had to offer. Even Ninja himself strayed away from Fortnite to play multiple rounds of this Battle Royale on his channel.

With a new Battle Royal in the mix, Fortnite might be looking at long term competition, as Apex Legends has had over 230,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch as of this posting, compared to 64,000 users watching Fortnite. Will the King of Battle Royals be dethroned by the fresh experience from Respawn? All signs point to yes.
