Today, EA announced that its recently released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the fastest-selling digital Star Wars game within the first two weeks of release. They also disclosed that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is EA’s best selling Star Wars title on PC within the initial launch window. We’ll most likely be getting a sequel for the critically acclaimed Fallen Order, especially considering what Respawn’s Brand Strategy Director Charlie Houser, had to say on the matter.
Fallen Order has you take control of Cal Kestis, a Padawan whose training was cut short during the great Jedi culling that was Order 66. Now a young adult, Cal is forced to come out of hiding and become the Jedi Knight he was always meant to be. The game has been praised for having responsive, challenging combat – much in the same vein as this year’s Sekiro. Players also like that it captures that Star Wars magic that’s hard to replicate. The subtle sounds of the lightsaber, blasters and the score akin to the Original Trilogy’s all capture that Star Wars feel. The lack of monetization and exploitative loot box mechanics is also a big selling point for people less willing to trust modern Star Wars titles.
