October is yet another great month for game releases with games across all genres and platforms. Here is every major game that should be on your radar!
October 3: Forza Motorsport 7
Forza Motorsport 7 is another entry in the popular and loved racing sim series. Forza 7 is a realistic racing sim, that looks to be the most realistic game in the series to date. The game features the most cars and tracks in the series to date and boasts incredible graphics that will push your Xbox One to its limits. Forza 7 is also Xbox One X enhanced, in which it will boost the game to 4k visuals and 60 fps. Forza Motorsport 7 will release on Xbox One and PC for $59.99.
October 3: Battle Chasers: Nightwar
Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a turn based RPG, based on the Battle Chasers comic book series. The game looks to be a great callback to old turn based RPG and features a beautiful visual style. It was also recently delayed on the Nintendo Switch, which is a disappointment, but hopefully the developers can get it to the Switch sometime soon. Battle Chasers: Nightwar launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC for $39.99.
October 5: Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen
The Dark Arisen version will make its way to the PS4 and Xbox One version this month. Dragons Dogma is an open world action RPG, that features a hack and slash combat system. The game received very positive scores from critics, with critics praising the games side quests and openness in letting the player making a mark on the world how they want to. Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen releases on PS4 and Xbox One for $29.99.
October 10: Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
The sequel to the highly acclaimed Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, finally releases this month. Shadow of War is an open-world action RPG that takes place after the events of Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of War features an expanded nemesis system that allow the players to build up and control their own army to take on Sauron. Middle Earth: Shadow of War releases on Xbox One, PS4 and PC for $59.99.
October 10: Raid: WWII
Raid: WWII is a four player co-op shooter that follows four prisoners of war as they try to take down Hitler. Each player can customize their own character, and they can choose between four different classes recon, assault, insurgent and demolition. Raid: WWII looks to be a great co-op experience when it hits Xbox One and PS4 for $39.99 this month.
October 13: The Evil Within 2
The upcoming sequel to 2014’s The Evil Within is a 3rd person survival horror game. The Evil Within 2 will see the return of Sebastian Castellanos as he searches for his daughter. Levels are larger this time around and will allow the players to tackle the levels in multiple different ways. The Evil Within 2 looks to be an even more horrifying experience this time around, and the fact that it releases on Friday the 13th doesn’t help.
October 17: WWE 2k18
WWE 2K18 is the newest addition in the yearly wrestling sim. This years version will feature the largest roster to date, the game will also allow players to play with up to 8 wrestlers at once. WWE 2K18 looks to be yet another great addition to the popular wrestling sim series, a Nintendo Switch version will also release sometime this fall. WWE 2K18 is set to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC for $59.99.
October 17: ELEX
ELEX is the latest game from Piranha Bytes, the creators of the Gothic series. ELEX is an open-world RPG that is set on the planet Magalan in where everyone fights for the valuable resource ELEX. Players can join many factions, and they can use swords, guns and magic as weapons. The world is huge and it reacts to the decisions that the players make, which creates a very unique experience that helps make the game more realistic. ELEX is set to release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC for $59.99.
October 17: Gran Turismo Sport
The latest entry in one of the greatest racing sim series of all time will finally release this month. Gran Turismo Sport is also the first game in the newest generation of the series. Gran Turismo Sport features 177 cars and 19 different tracks to race on. The game will also feature three modes, a Campaign mode, a Sports mode and an Arcade mode, as it looks to offer something to do for every racing fan. Gran Turismo Sport launches on the PS4 for $59.99.
October 17: South Park: The Fractured but Whole
The Fractured but Whole (great title right) will finally make its way to your console or PC this month after multiple delays. The Fractured but Whole takes place after the events of the The Stick of Truth, as this time around the game will focus on superheros as you will have twelve different classes to choose from. Players can also choose what gender they want to choose. South Park: The Fractured but Whole will release on the PS4, Xbox One and PC for $59.99.
October 20: Fire Emblem Warriors 
Fire Emblem Warriors, the upcoming hack and slash game, is one of the biggest games coming to the Switch this year. The game features gameplay similar to the Dynasty Warriors series, but will also feature a more tactical system to try and stay true to the Fire Emblem’s series roots. Players will be able to control many characters such as Rowan and Lianna from the Fire Emblem series. Fire Emblem Warriors will release on the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch for $59.99.
October 24: Destiny 2
Destiny 2 will finally release on PC later this month. Players on consoles have fallen in love with the sequel as many believe it is a big improvement over the first. Destiny 2 will hopefully have a smooth PC launch, when it releases later this month for $59.99.
October 27: Wolfenstien II: The New Colossus
The New Colossus is yet another sequel to release this month from Bethesda. The newest entry in the reboot focuses on the rebellion to take down the Nazi empire. The developers have stated they want players to truly feel like they are playing as B.J. Blazkowicz, so they added many new features such as the ability to freely swap weapons in dual wielding and a hatchet for brutal melee take downs. Wolfenstien II: The New Colossus releases on the Xbox One, PS4, PC for $59.99, and the Nintendo Switch sometime next year.
October 27: Assassin’s Creed Orgins
The latest entry in one of the biggest franchises in gaming releases later this month. Orgins looks to take the series in a new direction with a completely new combat system, and a big focus on having worthwhile side quests for players. Orgins also takes the game back to the series roots as far as narrative goes with Orgins being set in ancient Egypt. Hopefully Ubisoft get this one right, as this game looks very promising. Assassin’s Creed Orgins hits shelves later this month for Xbox One, PS4 and PC for $59.99.
October 27: Super Mario Odyssey
Arguably the biggest game of the year releases on the biggest day for game releases of the year. Super Mario Odyssey looks to bring back the great 3D platforming fun that the Super Mario series is known for. The game also introduces Cappy, which allows for some new gameplay mechanics as the player can use Cappy to maneuver through the world. Super Mario Odyssey looks to be another great Nintendo exclusive when it launches on the Nintendo Switch for $59.99.
