Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 Remasters Announced for PlayStation 4

Sega just shadow-dropped Yakuza 3 on PlayStation 4 today, with 4 and 5 remasters releasing months afterwards. By February 2020, all mainline Yakuza games will be readily available on PSN. On October 19th, Yakuza 4 will release digitally on PSN and on February 11th, 2020, Yakuza 5 will release. The physical copy of the remastered trilogy will launch for $60 following Yakuza 5’s release. Unlike the Kiwami games for the first two Yakuza games, these remasters will only have 1080p/60fps graphics of the original, with complete English localization. However, Sega announced that the remasters will boast additional features such as English karaoke and sub-story markers.

Both digital and physical versions are full price. The digital version will automatically update adding 4 and 5 when they release, whereas the physical version will contain all three games on a single disc. Sega has consistently graced the PS4 and PC with Yakuza content, ranging from the prequel Yakuza Zero and the Kiwami remakes to the newest entries and spin-offs. The longstanding barrier of region exclusivity has hindered fans’ enjoyment for new Yakuza content, so it appears Sega and RGG Studio are compensating by frequently localizing the latest games in the series.
