Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! took the world by storm in 2005. It felt like everyone and their Grandma was curled up with a DS working hard to lower their brain age. Dr. Kawashima clearly thinks our grey matter need another workout, though, as Nintendo officially announced a new game in the Brain Age franchise: Train Your Brain: Nintendo Switch Training for Adults.

A new social aspect has also been implemented into this version: you can now share and upload your progress online so friends and loved ones can track all your mental workouts through their smartphones. If you want to make brain training a part of your daily routine, a handy new schedule feature lets you arrange workout times for which the Switch’s Home Button LED will act as an alarm, notifying you when it’s time for another session.
The Switch’s touchscreen is also getting some good use since several of the classic Brain Age micro-games are also featured. Simple math problems can be solved by scribbling on the screen and counting problems can be solved with just a few taps. Sudoku fans can also breathe easy – this mode will return.
The game launches on December 27, 2019, in Japan alongside the release of the Switch stylus which can be bought separately – great news for anyone who missed out on the one bundled in with Super Mario Maker 2. Presently, this new Brain Age game is only set to release in Japan, and there is no official word yet on a Western release, but given the popularity of the series, a worldwide release is likely in the works.
